Testimonials
Vicki Carrell started working at KETCH as a Vocational Trainer in October of 1992. On her first day of work, a client told Vicki very sincerely, “You are a pretty woman.” From that moment, Vicki knew she had found the right job.
After learning KETCH’s production system, Vicki was promoted to Production Coordinator. “One thing that I have always wanted to do in my life is to ‘be someone’", said Vicki. “Here at KETCH, I have gotten to ‘be someone’. It may not seem like much to some but it means everything to me.”
Community Living Trainer Debora Fields enjoys most being out in the community with persons served. She has worked with one particular individual for many years now. When she first started working with this person, there were some real housekeeping problems, accompanied by roaches and poor cleaning skills. With Debora’s patience and persistence, the person has become careful about keeping things picked up and her home is much cleaner. Best of all, she enjoys where she lives. “I’ve worked with her for years to reach this goal,” said Debora.
“Knowing you can help further someone in their life is very rewarding,” said Debora. “If I can make a change in someone’s life, it makes my day!”
Warehouse worker Ed Kloke finds getting to know all the clients, learning their names and being able to visit with them has consistently been one of the most rewarding parts of his job. “I enjoy walking through the buildings and hearing the clients call out, ‘Hi, Ed!’ It’s great to see how happy everyone is,” said Ed.
“At KETCH, there is always plenty to do. We move a lot of boxes and freight, and there’s always paperwork that follows it,” said Ed. “They keep me really busy and I like that!”
“I love my job,” said Diane Bjorklund. “I like being a Vocational Trainer. I have plenty to do and I enjoy knowing that the clients are getting something out of each day.”
Diane honestly states that she needs her paychecks, but follows it quickly with the fact that at KETCH, the jobs are much more than a paycheck. “It’s a good place to work,” said Diane. “The benefits are wonderful. I’ve never had a job that provided so much in benefits. But the day you see your first client get a job out in the community and knowing that you helped, there is no better job in the world.”
Jill Dalrymple has worked for KETCH over ten years and is the Staff Development Training Coordinator. “I love hearing staff talk about their success stories and the pride they take in their jobs,” said Jill. “The training truly impacts people. It’s a really good industry where you know you can make a difference. At KETCH, we all make a difference in someone’s life every day.” |
