Planned Giving

Pyramids rising in the desert….
Paintings on a cave wall…
Great works of art…
and Literature…

All reflect a common yearning in people to leave behind a legacy.

Even Ancient Egyptians Left Property in Perpetuity

What does Philanthropy mean? Literally it means love for humankind. In everyday terms it means making gifts. Gifts for health care, human services or people -- gifts that translate love for humankind into action.

Planned giving has been in existence for centuries. Before wills and testaments were popular, Egyptians were encouraged to leave property, to other than legal heirs, in perpetuity.

No one is ever too young or too old to make a planned gift. Planned gifts to The Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, Inc. provide a continual commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve self-fulfillment for generations to come. In today’s world, a planned gift is one of the major ways non-profit organizations are funded.

A planned gift can be earmarked for specific programs KETCH offers, or it may be applied wherever the need is greatest.

We have received many thoughtful gifts from friends who give because they believe in our work, but who also realize that through careful planning, they can achieve a tax advantage that will cause their gifts to have even greater impact. Some of these gift planning techniques, such as memorials, trusts, the gift annuity, and many other good ways of gifting, can benefit our programs, which we hope you will consider in your own planning.
