Employment Services job

Employment Services have served more than 30,000 Kansans with a variety of disabilities. KETCH has an extensive statewide network of job development professionals that work closely with employers to identify jobs, screen and place job applicants. The employment services staff is committed to helping all Kansans succeed in the workplace.

How does Employment Services Work?

  • KETCH works with Kansas Rehabilitation Services to counsel, guide and train you for work
  • KETCH staff will identify job openings and prepare you for the application process (including résumé preparations and interviews)
  • Once hired, KETCH staff can accompany you to the job to help familiarize you with the tasks and people
  • KETCH will follow-up with you and the employer to ensure a successful job placement

Who uses Employment Services?
Employment Services job

  • Anyone that is eligible for services through the Kansas Rehabilitation Services can be served by KETCH’s Employment Services
  • Job applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • The Board of Education program does accept job applicants as young as 16 years of age

Job Coaching

  • Job Coaching is available, if necessary
  • Job Coaching is when KETCH staff accompanies you to the workplace to help you learn the skills of the job and to integrate you into the work environment
  • Job Coaching phases out as necessary, when you feel comfortable
  • The purpose is to ensure a successful job placement

Job Development Services
Employment Services job

  • Your employment history is reviewed to identify your interests and capabilities
  • Staff will assist you with mock interviews, résumé preparation and applications

Community Based Job Try-out

  • Provides an opportunity to assess your ability to perform the job tasks
  • Also allows time to explore the appropriateness of the work

Job Placement Follow-up

  • Once placed at a job, you will be monitored at a minimum of 30-day intervals for the first 90 days
  • Some will be monitored more frequently, depending on circumstances
  • Generally, follow-ups depend on your satisfaction level
